macOS setup

Install optic on macOS.

1. Get your account ready

    Sign in on opticmethod.com with Continue with Google.
  2. 02
    Subscribe to optic premium ($99/month) using that same Google email. Your subscription and built-in credits are pre-activated on that email.

2. Install the app

Universal build for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. One Mac per account.

    Option A — Terminal (recommended)

    Open Terminal and paste this command, then press Return:

    curl -fsSL https://optic-delivery.c-viperdevelopment.workers.dev/install/mac | sh

    Option B — DMG installer

    Download Optic.dmg from your account dashboard, open it, and run Optic Setup.app.

    Option C — App archive

    Download Optic.app.zip from your dashboard, unzip it, and move Optic.app into your Applications folder.

3. Sign in and start

    Launch Optic.app from your Applications folder.

    Click Continue with Google and sign in with the same Google email you subscribed with — your subscription attaches automatically.

    Choose a model and click Initialize. No OpenRouter account is needed to start.

Credits & OpenRouter key

  • Every subscription and monthly renewal includes a full tank of built-in AI credits.
  • Optionally paste your own OpenRouter API key (sk-or-v1-…) in the OpenRouter API Key card. When a key is saved, it's used first and your built-in credits aren't deducted.
  • If built-in credits reach 0%, Optic.app asks for your OpenRouter key to keep going.
  • Updates install automatically from inside the app.

Never disable operating-system security protections. If something blocks installation, ask on Discord.
